These services help to ensure the youth’s success in navigating various social contexts, learning new skills, and making functional progress, while the Therapeutic Mentor offers supervision of these interactions and engages the youth in discussions about strategies for effective handling of peer and adult interactions.
Therapeutic Mentoring is designed to give children and teens the opportunity for skill building through experiences that would naturally occur in their everyday life. To help develop a specified skill, the FAM Therapeutic Mentor works to model, educate, motivate, and coach them on how to use and practice overcoming obstacles related to these skills.
These services help to ensure success in navigating different social contexts, learning new skills and making functional progress. The FAM Therapeutic Mentor offers supervision of numerous activities and engages their mentee in discussions about strategies for effective handling of peer interactions.
