WELLNESS, EDUCATION, &
EMPOWERMENT
W.E.E. Initiative
We are excited to introduce the WEE Collaborative (Wellness, Education, and Empowerment), launched in partnership with Sabura Youth Programs under the leadership of their Executive Director, Leny Monteiro.
Through this collaborative, we are expanding our community health commitment to reach even more children and families. With the support of the Boston Children’s Metro South West Community Health Initiative, our efforts will focus on addressing the mental and behavioral health needs of children and youth, while also ensuring that parents and caregivers are equipped with the tools, resources, and capacity to build a strong and sustainable future for their families.
The WEE Collaborative represents a powerful step forward in creating a holistic approach to wellness, centering the health, education, and empowerment of our community as the foundation for lasting change.
OUR GOAL
To expand and deepen our impact by consistently supporting youth and families through cultural enrichment, family-strengthening programs, and leadership development. Our work emphasizes mental health, identity, and empowerment across all age levels, ensuring that children and caregivers have the tools and support needed to thrive.
OBJECTIVES
Objective 1: Youth Pipeline Program (K–12)
• Recruit a new cohort of young children each year while continuing to engage and support previous cohorts as they grow and progress through the program.
• Build continuity of support from early childhood through adolescence, creating future pathways in education, mental health awareness, and community leadership.
• Establish a structured K–12 pipeline that fosters resilience, identity development, and long-term community engagement.
Objective 2: Family Engagement & Cultural Events
• Host monthly family engagement and cultural events designed to strengthen household stability.
• Provide mental health education tailored to families, helping reduce stigma and improve access to resources.
• Create opportunities for families to connect with community-based services, fostering stronger networks of care and support.
Objective 3: Steering Committee for the Pipeline Initiative
• Convene a steering committee of at least 9 members representing youth, parents/caregivers, grassroots organizations, and educational/community leaders.
• Guide the development and implementation of programs and services for children and families.
• Ensure the pipeline remains community-driven, culturally relevant, and responsive to evolving needs.
